Artemis Shawl release + info for TreLiz kits!

Almost a year ago I met the utterly inspirational Lise of TreLiz Yarns at the Swiss Wulle festival here in Zurich. If you don't know her and are lover of colour you MUST go an check her out! Her yarns are a sight for sore eyes and heavenly to knit with. I was thrilled when I suggested that we collaborate on a design (or two ;-) ) and she said yes!

The Artermis Shawl is the first of our collaborations to be released. This asymmetrical-triangular shawl lets you play with colour using simple stitch patterns and rows which never get unwieldy. Knit in garter stitch and easy lace this shawl is designed to make the colours shine, while giving a fun, wearable shawl.

Kits for this shawl (including the pattern) can be found here

The shawl is fully bordered by an I-cord, the vast majority of which is worked while you work the shawl (no picking up stitches and working an endless I-cord bind off ).

I was totally captivated by TreLiz yarn and I wanted a simple yet striking design which would give a potentially never ending opportunity to play with your favourite colours. Inspired, as this shawl was, by the beautiful, bold and striking yarns from TreLiz naming the shawl "Artemis" was utterly appropriate. Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting and archery. Her strong and bold character is captured beautifully by the use of colour forming dramatic arrows in the design. Furthermore, TreLiz is based in Greece!

The yarn base for the shawl is the Zeus base. A thoroughly shawl appropriate 100% single-ply merino yarn (100 g / 366 m), and the shawl requires one full 100 g skein and five 20 g mini skeins! The kit which I used for my sample is "The Original" kit. This kit and two more are being offered for pre-orders here from September 25th until October 10th. The blue sample shown below is "The Mediterranean" kit.

The kits include the pattern, the yarn and a lovely silk-screen printed project bag. TreLiz will be running a KAL for these kits from November 10th until December 10th.

Should you not be able to get your hands on a kit then be sure to check out the pattern on Ravelry. I will also be hosting a KAL, starting soon, in my Ravelry group.
